2020: Clear Vision, Clear Mind, Clear Heart
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (39:53)
As we all welcome in the new decade, we find ourselves embarking on new journeys and paths in each of our respective lives. The previous decade was defined by growth and personal milestones for each of us, with lasting memories experienced, lifelong friends made, and moments of personal achievement that we will all cherish for the remainder of our lives. However, for many of us, the previous decade may have also contained trials and tribulations that left us in places that caused us to be confused or resentful towards ourselves, others, or even our deen. How can we leave our problems behind in the previous decade and ensure that the same hardships do not befall us?
As we reorient ourselves to transition into the new decade, we have the opportunity for a fresh start that can enrich us spiritually, mentally, and physically. We have the chance to cleanse our hearts and minds to focus on what is truly important. Allah (SWT) promises us that we should not be discouraged because of our own transgressions and reminds us that His mercy can and will forgive past mistakes. We use this as a reminder that there is always hope for us if we seek it out.
Starting in 2020, we leave our past selves behind. This is the decade of Clear Vision, Clear Mind, and a Clear Heart.
